Breakfast near Quincy, MA — worth the fifteen minutes

Let's be straight about this: Quincy has good breakfast. It's a city of a hundred thousand people with a genuinely deep food scene, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What Quincy has less of is somewhere you can park for free, sit down at 6:15 on a Tuesday, and get out the door for the price of a Quincy Center brunch tip.

Randolph touches Quincy at the corner, so we're about fifteen minutes from Quincy Center — ten from West Quincy. Sunnyside Cafe is family-run, has been since 2009, and opens at 6:00 AM every day.

The three reasons Quincy people make the drive

Parking. This is the big one. Quincy Center on a Saturday morning is a circling exercise. We have free spaces directly out front and you will get one.

The hour. If your shift starts at 7:00, or you're coming off one, most Quincy kitchens haven't opened yet. Our first hour — 6:00 to 7:00 — is nurses, trades, and people heading south before the traffic does.

Weekday brunch. A lot of the brunch places up your way run it Saturday and Sunday only. We serve the same breakfast and brunch menu seven days a week, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If the craving lands on a Wednesday you don't have to schedule around it.
